5.3 million people have voted in UEFA’s website  to choose the team of the year 2012. The selected players were: Iker Casillas (Real Madrid), Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid), Thiago Silva (Paris Saint-Germain), Gérard Piqué (Barcelona), Philipp Lahm (Bayern Munich), Andrés Iniesta (Barcelona), Mesut Özil (Real Madrid), Andrea Pirlo (Juventus), Xavi (Barcelona), Lionel Messi (Barcelona), Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid).
