There has been a growing trend in the Premier League over the last few years of squads signing football sponsorship deals with online gaming companies. Robin Van Persie and company over at Manchester United are all sponsored by bwin, one of the largest gaming companies in Europe.
Joe Cole and the rest of West Ham United have been sponsored by SBOBET since 2008, making them one of the oldest gaming sponsorships in the league. Peter Crouch and crew over at Stoke City just signed a deal last year with bet365.
Santi Carzola and the rest of Arsenal had brief ties with bwin as their current sponsor Betsson was part of the Ongame Network, a property that the company sold late last year.
Marouane Fellaini and the rest of Everton are currently working on trying to work their way into the top five this seasons. They are sponsored by Paddy Power.
Liverpool and Luis Suarez are likely to miss out on a top five spot in the EPL this year but the company is in good shape sponsorship wise as they hold three different sponsorship deals with Misli.com, Paddy Power, and 188Bet.
Christian Beteke of Aston Villa and Arouna Kone of Wigan are battling for their EPL lives as both teams are right at the relegation
line. Wigan is sponsored by 12Bet.com and Aston Villa has a deal in place with Genting Casinos.
In the high stakes game of EPL sponsorship, there seems to be plenty of deals to go around. It would not be surprising to see every team in the
league sponsored by a gaming company in some fashion in the future.
